金門海上長泳譜出壯觀人龍

At Liaoluo Bay Beach, the 8th Annual Kinmen Long Distance Swim commenced (1), boasting (2) 85 teams-over 1700 participants from all over mainland China and Taiwan to complete the challenge of the sea. The number of participating teams and swimmers this year exceeded (3) that of previous years, making this year's activity the most successful yet (4).
搶灘料羅灣－第8屆金門海上長泳活動，7日盛大登場，兩岸四地85支隊伍、逾1700位選手在碧海藍天下完成壯舉。今年參與隊伍及選手人數，創下歷年新高紀錄，構成一條長長「人龍」，場面壯觀浩大。
This open water long-distance swimming event began at Liaoluo Bay at 7:30 the morning of August 7th. The opening ceremony was presided over (5) by county magistrate Li, Wo-Shi, the minister of the Sports Affairs Council, Executive Yuan, Dai, Xia-Ling (戴遐齡) and other guests.
　 這項海上長泳活動，7日上午7時30分在料羅灣舉行開幕儀式，由縣長李沃士主持，與行政院體育委員會主委戴遐齡等貴賓共同為活動鳴槍。

In a short speech, Magistrate Li pointed out that, although the participants and size of the event continue to improve each year, there are yet some issues that may inhibit (6) its growth. These imperfections (7) include the lack of accommodations in Kinmen which makes it impossible to attract more applicants. Magistrate Li expressed the desire to improve these conditions in order to sustain the expansion of the Long Distance Swim event.
李縣長致詞時指出，金門海上長泳活動，今年堂堂邁入第8個年頭，規模及參與隊伍人數更甚於往年，美中不足之處是金門住宿條件不足，不少報名者向隅。李縣長許下心願，將改善各項條件，使長泳活動得以持續擴大。
