金門軍事遺跡閩南文化縣府致力推動申請登錄世遺

Because of its rich southern-Min style and unique battlefield culture, Kinmen was elected as one of the twelve potential sites for World Heritage in Taiwan. A committee organized by local government, will work in hand with mainland China to apply for World Heritage listing. Hopefully their efforts will work out in the end.
　 金門的閩南與戰地文化豐富，曾被遴選為全國十二處世界遺產潛力點之一。縣府特別成立委員會，打算與對岸共同以「閩南文化」申請登錄世遺，期待早日有所突破。

"Kinmen County Application for Potential World Heritage Site Execution Committee" recently held its first committee meeting on the morning of the 21st where the Bureau of Cultural Affairs gave a presentation. County Magistrate Li, Wo-shi said that the county government is now having discussions with mainland contacts hoping to cooperate with Fujian Province and nearby cities in mainland China. Magistrate Li hoped that the two parties can work together to strive for the same goal-Southern-Min Culture being listed as world heritage.
　 「金門縣世界遺產潛力點推動委員會」21日上午召開第一次委員會議，聽取文化局簡報。李沃士表示，縣府正透過管道與大陸方面溝通及協調，期望與大陸福建省相關城市合作，共同以「閩南文化」申請登錄為世遺。

As many military installations were left during the post-Cold War Era, when cross-strait tensions were at their highest, Magistrate Li thinks that Kinmen might have a better chance to be listed as a World Heritage by contacting with Xiamen and seeking cooperation with other possible partners.
　 後冷戰時期兩岸對峙遺留下來的軍事遺址和設施，李沃士也認為可與大陸廈門方面接觸，從多面向尋求合作，使金門更有機會申請登錄為世遺。

The deputy chief of staff of the Kinmen Defense Command (KDC), Yang, Nai-sheng(楊迺聲) said that KDC is elated (1) to participate in the execution of applying for listing as a potential World Heritage site. In order to contribute more to Kinmen's military tourism resource, the National Defense Command has also approved the transferring of a total of 68 pieces of military equipment to Kinmen this year beginning as early as March.
　 金防部副參謀長楊迺聲表示，針對推動世界遺產潛力點相關工作，金防部樂於參與，國防部也已核定十項共六十八件軍事裝備，最快今年三月份可撥贈，充實金門的軍事觀光資源。
