全國首套智慧節能路燈率先在金門啟用

The first LED (1) energy efficient lighting system in Taiwan is now implemented in Kinmen. The county government says that the existing 13,000 plus street light bulbs in Kinmen will be gradually replaced by LED over the next four years in order to progress toward a low-carbon island.
　 全國第一套智慧型監控的LED照明節能系統在金門啟用了！縣府表示，未來四年內將逐步汰換全島一萬三千餘盞路燈，朝低碳島目標邁進。

Huandao East Road section 5 had been chosen to apply this "LED Lighting for Energy Saving Pilot Plan." Previous inefficient (2) mercury-vapor lamps (3) were replaced with LED bulbs, and an "Intelligent Remote Monitoring & Control System" was installed as well. This system is the first intelligent monitoring system in the country. It is able to collect the information of the lighting system, then adjust the lighting hours according to the length of daylight hours, thereby reducing energy consumption (4).
　 這項「LED照明節能示範計畫」，選定東半島環島東路五段，將原本耗能、耗電的水銀燈，汰換為LED燈具，並增設「智慧型遠端監控系統」，這是全國第一套智慧型監控系統，可以自動蒐集照明系統資訊，並結合日出日沒時間，設定調節照明時段，減少耗能。

Kinmen County Magistrate Li, Wo-Shi says that Kinmen's selection as one of the six low-carbon cities was designated (5) by the Council for Economic Planning and Development, Executive Yuan. As long as there is movement toward the goal of transforming into a low-carbon island, there is a strong possibility in the future that Kinmen could be honored as one of the prominent (6) low-carbon cities in the world, and thus increase the Kinmen's visibility.
金門縣長李沃士表示，行政院經建會已擇定金門為全國六大低碳城市之一，只要能持續朝低碳島目標邁進，未來可望擠進全球著名的低碳城市之列，提昇金門的能見度。
Over the next four years, a total 13,704 street light bulbs will be gradually replaced by the government with an estimated expense set at 365 million NT dollars. Upon completion, this project is expected to save 80 million NT on electrical bills and cut carbon emissions (7) by 40 million kg over the next five years.
未來四年縣府還將逐年汰換全島13,704盞路燈，總經費預估為新台幣3.65億元，計畫完成後，5年內可望減少電費支出八千餘萬元，並減少碳排放量四千萬KgCo2。

●1. LED-是light-emitting diode，發光二極體的縮寫。它是一種半導體元件，因為能量轉換效率高，壽命長，已成為21世紀的新型光源。

●3. mercury-vapor lamp-水銀燈。燈泡內部含有汞（水銀）蒸氣，利用氣體放電的方式產生亮光。
