兩岸將破天荒舉辦海空救難演練

After more than sixty years of separation, both sides across strait decided to hold a joint search and rescue maneuver (1) in Kinmen-Xiamen coastal waters on September 16th, which included shipwreck (2) rescue, medical evacuation (3), and coordination integration links.
兩岸分隔60餘年，今年9月16日兩岸將在金廈海域進行海上搜救聯合演練，內容包括船難救援、醫療後送與協調聯繫。

The drill will be held in the coastal waters between Kinmen and Xiamen. The Coast Guard Administration, Executive Yuan, will dispatch (4) a 500 ton patrol boat named "Kinmen," and an additional nine of each type of naval vessel (5) to participate in the drill. The National Airborne (6) Service Corps, Ministry of the Interior, will also contribute assistance with one AS-365 helicopter, with the Kinmen County Government dispatching the ferryboat, "Xian Zhou," to participate in the exercise. This will be the first time for a "central level" unit to take part in the cross-strait joint rescue maritime drill in the name of an NGO (7). It is estimated that the scale of this exercise will exceed that of the year 2008.
這項演習地點在金廈海域，我方將有海巡署排水量500噸的「金門艦」等9艘各型艦艇參與，內政部空勤總隊支援AS-365直升機1架，金門縣政府則派出接駁客船「仙洲號」參與演練。這是首次有「中央級」單位以民間名義參加兩岸的海上搜救聯合演練。預估演習規模將超過2008年。

The scenario design of the drill simulated a collision (8) of two ships in the waters between Kinmen and Xiamen. The ships were to send out a distress (9) signal, to which search and rescue units from each side would immediately respond with cooperative rescue action, including locating overboard (10) victims, calculating current direction, implementing rescue methods, and following up with medical evacuation.
演習設定的狀況假想是兩艘船舶在金廈海域碰撞，船隻發出求救訊號，兩岸搜救單位接獲訊號後展開共同救援，內容包括定位落海者位置、海流方向、救人方式，以及後續醫療後送。
