塑化劑風暴環保局細說分明

As the plasticizer (1) storm rampaged (2) though the nation, it turned plasticizers into a public enemy. Kinmen County Environmental Protection Bureau pointed out that plasticizers are artificial chemical materials that are added when processing plastic materials to increase its ductility (3) and flexibility. Plasticizers are a type of environmental hormone (4) and have been proven to interfere with androgenic (5) hormones in human body if exposed to plasticizers for a long period of time. This might affect the function of reproductive (6) system and even cause cancer.
塑化劑風暴壟罩全國，儼然已成為全民公敵，金門縣環保局指出，該物質為人工合成的化學物質，添加目的是在於塑膠原料加工時，可以增加塑膠的延展性與彈性，惟該物質是一種環境荷爾蒙物質，並已被證實若人體長時間曝露累積後，將會干擾人體荷爾蒙雄性激素的訊息傳遞，可能影響生殖系統功能，甚至有致癌風險。

The Environmental Protection Bureau pointed out that it is legal to add suitable amounts of plasticizer in plastic products, and that the Department of Health has set limitations on adding plasticizer in food packaging after referring to international management regulations; the Department of Health announced the amendment to the "Sanitation Standard for Food Utensils, (7) Containers and Packages" on November 22nd, 2010, adding a limit to the amount of DEHP released from plastic containers to under 1.5ppm.
環保局指出，塑化劑於塑膠製品中適量添加是合法的，並且被用於食品包裝容器之製程時添加物，衛生署亦參照國際間對食品塑膠包裝之管理規範，訂定添加限制規範，於九十九年十一月二十二日公告修正「食品器具容器包裝衛生標準」，增訂塑膠類中DEHP之溶出限量標準為1.5ppm以下。

Studies show that plastic products might release environmental hormones, such as DEHP, styrens and bisphenol-A, when under high temperatures. The Environmental Protection Bureau therefore recommends using stainless steel, glass and ceramic containers instead of plastic ones, gradually building a new concept to "refuse plastic in life," to avoid using plastic products, drink water instead of beverages, and eat vegetables and fresh foods that were not artificially processed, so as to reduce exposure to hazardous (8) materials.
然研究指出，塑膠類製品高溫環境下，將可能釋放出鄰苯二甲酸二酯（DEHP）、苯乙烯（styrens）及雙酚A（bisphenol-A）等環境荷爾蒙物質。環保局因此提醒民眾，應盡可能多使用不銹鋼、玻璃及磁器器皿等替代材質取代塑膠餐具來盛裝食物，逐步營造「生活拒塑」新生活概念，平時少碰、少用塑化製品，多喝煮沸開水少喝飲料，多吃蔬果及非加工的新鮮食物，以低暴露有害物質之危害風險。

The Environmental Protection Bureau reminds consumers that they can refuse to use disposable (9) utensils and even prepare their own utensils for the sake of their own health and to protect our planet, so that they may become fresh and healthy modern citizens who contribute to environmental protection.
環保局提醒民眾消費時，為維護自身身體健康及響應環保愛護地球，可向業者來拒絕使用免洗餐具，更可自備環保餐具，做個清新健康的環保現代人。

The Environmental Protection Bureau indicated that there are many other chemicals used in objects of our daily living environment besides "plasticizers," some of these chemicals have some toxicity and some are quite toxic, while some have no toxicity, they will cause chronic poisoning when exposed for long periods. Therefore, consumers should be careful when selecting and using products to avoid becoming victims.
環保局表示，其實，在日常生活環境當中除了「塑化劑」外，許多的日常用品中也包含了各式各樣的化學物質，這些化學物質，有些毒性甚微，有些卻頗具毒性，有些雖然沒有急毒性，但長期暴露之下卻會造成慢性中毒。因此，選用及使用時均必須十分小心，避免暴露中毒受害。
