Tourist: There are many small islands around Kinmen. Besides Little Kinmen, are there any other important popular islands?
遊客：金門四周有許多小島，除了小金門以外，有沒有比較大而且有名的島呢？

Tour Guide: Yes, there are. Dadan and Erdan Islands are two of them.
導遊：還有大膽島和二膽島。
Tourists:Where are these two islands situated(1)?
遊客：大膽島和二膽島的位置在哪裡？

Tour Guide:They are off the shore of Little Kinmen and on the sea-route to Xiamen Harbor.
導遊：是在小金門外海和廈門港進出的航道上。

Tourist:The location must have great significance.
遊客：這位置應該有重要的意義吧？

Tour Guide:Yes, of course. The two islands were so close to Xiamen that they acted as a blockade(2) as well as a defense during the war. They provided an effective defense in the sea.
導遊：當然。由於距離廈門很近，足以封鎖廈門。當年打仗時，被視為海上的防線，具有高度的防禦功能。

Tourist:I am really expecting to visit there.
遊客：我真想去那裡看看。

Tour Guide:Oh, I don't think this will happen, because they are still guarded by our military forces, and soldiers are the only inhabitants.(3) Civilians(4) are not allowed there before the islands are opened to tourists.
導遊：這個可能沒有辦法哦。因為目前大膽島和二膽島由國軍駐守著，上面只住阿兵哥，沒有任何居民，是個尚未開放觀光的軍事地區。

Tourist:You disappoint me!
遊客：真是可惜！

Tour Guide:Oh, come on! Don't be so disappointed! Although landing is not possible, I will take you to the area surrounding Dadan and Erdan islands, where you can enjoy sightseeing from the boat. You can also enjoy the company of the mainlanders(5) at sea.
導遊：別那麼失望嘛！雖然不能登上這兩個島，但是我會安排大家乘坐遊輪從海上看大膽島和二膽島，並且欣賞海岸風光，還可以和大陸觀光客相互交流。

Tourist:Sounds great. But how?
遊客：聽起來很好玩。和大陸觀光客怎麼個交流法？

Tour Guide: Well, tourists from the mainland similarly take boats from Xiamen to visit this mysterious area. When both sides meet each other, almost everybody exchanges greetings at sea.
導遊：大陸觀光客同樣的從廈門坐船來到大、二膽海域，探一探這神秘的島嶼，到時候雙方人馬會在海上相遇，並且互相打招呼。

Tourist:Really interesting! Any other spots worth seeing on the islands?
遊客：真是新鮮事！島上還有什麼可看的嗎？

Tour Guide:I will introduce you to "Dadan Broadcasting Post" and eight huge Chinese characters meaning "Reunification of China under Three Principles of the People" responding to another eight characters on the opposite side in Xiamen meaning "Reunification of China under One Country Two Systems".
導遊：有大膽播音站，還有『三民主義，統一中國』八個大字和對岸的「一國兩制，統一中國」八個大字遙遙相對喔！

Tourist:Please remember to show me at that time.
遊客：到時候你可要好好的指給我看哦！（八）
