金廈泳渡再寫兩岸體育合作新頁

The 2010 Kinmen-Xiamen Cross-strait Swimming Competition set out (1) at 9:20 on the morning of August 8th at the Shuang-kou Beach in Lieyu Township with a total of 85 participants from across Taiwan and Mainland China. The first three swimmers to step out onto Ye-Feng-Zhai Beach quickly caught the attention of the media.
　 2010金廈海域泳渡活動8日上午9時20分從烈嶼鄉雙口海灘鳴槍開賽，共有兩岸四地八十五位泳將參加。前三位率先登上廈門椰風寨海灘的泳士頓時成為媒體焦點。

This year marked the second annual event of the cross-strait swim which was opened during a ceremony presided by Kinmen County Magistrate Li, Wo-Shi, County Council Speaker, Wang, Zai-Sheng, Lieyu Township Mayor, Hong, Cheng-Fa, Mainland China Xiamen City's Vice Mayor Ye, Chong-Geng, and other special guests. After the starting gun was fired, 85 participants began their long distance course at the distance of 7,100 meters on the sea. Among the participants, 35 swimmers were from Taiwan and Kinmen; 40 swimmers from several provinces and cities across Mainland China; 4 from Hong Kong and 6 from Macao. This year was the first time for athletes from Hong Kong and Macao to participate in the event.
　 這項跨越兩岸的海上長泳活動已邁入第二屆，開幕儀式特別安排金門縣長李沃士、縣議會議長王再生、烈嶼鄉長洪成發、大陸廈門市副市長葉重耕等人鳴槍。參與泳渡的85位泳將，隨即展開長達7100公尺的長程競技。這些選手分別來自台灣、金門（35名）、大陸各省市（40名），以及香港（4名）、澳門（6名）等。其中港澳選手是第一次參加。

After one and a half hour, Ling, Tian-Yu from Hong Kong; Pan, Kai-Wen from Kinmen; and Lin, Yang from Mainland China crossed the finish line at Ye-Feng-Zhai Beach at nearly the same time, becoming the first three to complete the tournament (2). Female athlete Deng, Ying-Xin from Hong Kong was the first woman to reach the finish point on the beach.
　 經過一個半小時，香港選手凌天宇、金門選手潘凱文、大陸選手林洋三人幾乎同時游抵椰風寨終點，分別獲得前三名。香港女選手鄧穎欣，則是第一位上岸的女健將。

In an interview in Xiamen, Magistrate Li pointed out that Xiamen and Kinmen are working hand-in-hand in cooperating to make the "Kinmen- Xiamen Cross-strait Swimming Competition" a flourishing (3) event for the sports exchange across the Strait, and thus becoming a token (4) of "peace," as well as a strenuous (5) challenge for athletes. He hopes that this event will continue to expand and raise Kinmen to a higher level of international recognition.
　 李縣長在廈門接受媒體採訪時指出，金廈攜手合辦「金廈泳渡」，是兩岸體育交流盛事，具有「和平」的象徵性意義，對選手也是一項挑戰和磨練。他希望這項活動能持續並擴大辦理，提高金門在國際上的知名度。
