金大感謝僑領捐資興學

National Quemoy University (NQU) President Li, Jin- Zhen, organized a delegation and tarveled to Southeast Asia to visit overseas Kinmenese leaders to convey news of the establishment of the NQU, and to share the excitement of its growth with them. Among all the overseas leaders was Singapore's Wee, Cho-Yaw (黃祖耀), who promised a donation of NT$ 22 million. Indonesia's Wang, Zhen-Kun (王振坤) also contributed NT$ 2 million. At a press conference on the 21st, NQU expressed their gratitude to these leaders for their generous donations.
　 國立金門大學校長李金振與一級主管日前組團前往東南亞拜會僑親，傳達金門大學成立的喜訊，與僑領分享成長的喜悅。其中新加坡僑領黃祖耀應允捐贈二千二百萬元新台幣、印尼僑領王振坤捐贈二百萬新台幣，金大21日特召開記者會，感謝僑領慷慨捐助。

President Li noted that the purpose of the trip to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia was to personally thank the overseas Kinmenese leaders for their past contributions to the school, as well as to give a brief overview (1) of the school's development, and to invite Yeoh, Tiong-Lay (楊忠禮); Chen, Kai-Rong (陳開蓉); Francis Yeoh (楊肅斌); Teo, Woon-Tiong (張允中); Wee, Cho-Yaw; Budiono Widodo (黃進益); Tan, Seng-Leong (陳成龍) as the school consultants.
李金振表示，此行共前往馬來西亞、新加坡及印度尼西亞等國，當面感謝僑領們過去對該校的貢獻，也向僑領簡報校務發展概況，敦聘楊忠禮、陳開蓉、楊肅斌、張允中、黃祖耀、黃進益、陳成龍等人為校務顧問。

In the press conference, President Li further noted that NQU will offer a special class for Chinese students living outside of the country, specifically for second and third generation overseas Chinese children, in order to expand knowledge of and exposure to (2) the Chinese culture. This would allow NQU to become Kinmen's culture "generator", and, at the same time, connect the overseas community with the local community at home.
