迎城隍千人蜈蚣座創下金氏世界紀錄

The Kinmen local public officially certified (1) their success in setting a new Guinness World Record for having over 1000 bearers (2) participating in the centipede procession on May 14th. Kinmen County Magistrate Li, Wo-Shi (李沃士) and Jin Cheng Township Mayor Shi, Zhao-Min (石兆 ) were pleased to assert (3) that this record is not only a proud achievement for Kinmenese, but it is also symbolic of the honor that brings Kinmen to the world stage.
經過千人的努力以及遊街遶境的考驗，由地區民眾合作扛抬的人力蜈蚣座14日正式通過認證，成功創下金氏世界記錄！金門縣長李沃士與金城鎮長石兆 肯定的表示，這項特殊的記錄是金門人的驕傲與成就，更是金門踏上世界舞台的榮耀象徵。

During the event of the Centennial City God Procession, a thousand people took part in the challenge of setting a new world record for the world's longest centipede parade using only "man-power". After the parade completed the 1.68 km route, Guinness World Records adjudicator (4) Anna Louise, who is from England, made a formal announcement of its success.
　 建國百年金門迎城隍遶境，14日千人挑戰世界最長純人力肩扛蜈蚣座成功！在隊伍走完一點六八公里後，來自英國的認證官Anna Louies宣布，這項挑戰世界最長純人力肩扛蜈蚣座成功！

Kinmen County Magistrate Li said that centipede procession is a unique folk festival artistry (5) in Kinmen. The carrying of the centipede platform is not only a performance of power, but also the presentation of public solidarity (6). The centipede platform was once carried and operated by using iron frames and wheels. It was not until three years ago that the procession was once again operated by human power. This year, with the enthusiastic public support, the event grew to an even larger scale with over 1000 volunteers forming a 100 joint centipede procession. Furthermore, the application for recognition by the Guinness World Record has officially placed Kinmen folk festival before the world.
金門縣長李沃士表示，蜈蚣座是金門特有的傳統藝陣，扛抬蜈蚣座不但是力量的表現，更是民眾團結意識的展現！過去的蜈蚣座曾經一度改為鐵架輪胎運作，三年前改回人力扛抬，今年更在民眾熱情參與下，擴大為百節千人的盛大活動。此次申報金氏世界紀錄，讓金門的傳統藝陣正式躍上全球舞台。

Jincheng Township Office, who hosted the event, confirmed that there was a total of 1,246 participants, including 200 children and over eight-hundred bearers. The participants started their preparations at nine o'clock in the morning, and got into position on Minquan Road at one o'clock in the afternoon. The route of the centipede procession went along Juguang Road, Zhongxing Road, Zhupu N. Road, Minquan Road, and Minsheng Road. All the participants worked assiduously (7) together to carefully take care of every detail. It is also worth mentioning that all the participants were volunteers. Their generous act of contributing to this success certainly deserves our compliments.
　 據主辦單位金城鎮公所表示，此次參與人力蜈蚣座的人員共有一千二百四十六名，其中包括了二百名小朋友，八百餘名扛抬人員。參與者從早上九時準備，下午一時在民權路上就位，整個蜈蚣座隊伍繞經莒光路、中興路、珠浦北路、民權路、民生路，在所有人合作無間的努力下，順利完成所有行程。值得一提的是，此次所有參與人員都是以義工性質報名參加，他們無償付出的精神值得敬佩。
