東金澎三島攜手打造旅遊金三角

Kinmen Magistrate Li, Wo-Shi (李沃士) and representatives of the County Government attended the first "Cooperation Forum on the Three Islands in Kinmen, Penghu and Dongshan," held by Dongshan County in Mainland China. Magistrate Li promoted tourism of Kinmen as well Kinmen Kaoliang liquor in his speech. He also talked about the present condition and fruitful achievements of the Mini-Three-Links. He emphasized that the Mini-Three-Links has reached its 10th anniversary, and the self-guided program for mainland tourists is about to be launched. Such a key step forward signifies a new phase for Cross-Strait relations.
　 金門縣長李沃士和縣政府代表團一行，14日出席參加大陸東山縣舉辦的「首屆東金澎三島合作論壇」；李沃士在發言中推銷金門觀光和金酒，也暢談小三通發展現況和成果。他強調，小三通已屆滿十週年，陸客自由行即將啟動，此一關鍵時刻象徵著兩岸關係即將開展新局面。

The first Cooperation Forum was held in Dongshan County, China on the morning of June 14th. You, Wan-Ling (游婉玲), a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhangzhou Municipal Committee; Wu, Hong-Qin (吳洪芹), the mayor of Zhangzhou; Wu, Da-Jin (吳達金), the Magistrate of Dongshan; Kinmen Magistate Li, Wo-Shi (李沃士); Penghu Magistrate Wang, Qian-Fa (王乾發); and 50 other representatives of the tourism industry attended the forum.
　 首屆東金澎三島合作論壇14日上午在東山縣舉辦，由漳州市委常委游婉玲主持，漳州市長吳洪芹，以及東山縣長吳達金、金門縣長李沃士、澎湖縣長王乾發，以及旅遊界代表共五十餘人參加。

Kinmen Magistrate Li pointed out that the Cross-Strait relations have been thawed (1) since 2001. He said Kinmen's Mini-Three-Links continuously plays the key role of a linking channel. Up to date, Mini-Three-Links has carried a total of 6.6 million passengers. It is anticipated that after the launch of the self-guided tour for Mainland Chinese, cross-relations will undergo a structural change. He believed that, on the basis of previously accumulated achievements, Mini-Three-Links may fully live up to (2) its potential and bring mutual prosperity to both mainlanders and Taiwanese
　 李沃士指出，兩岸關係從2001年融冰以來，金門小三通一直扮演著海上直航重要口岸的角色；截至目前為止，小三通總共載運六百六十萬餘人次。隨著陸客自由行即將啟動，相信隨著兩岸關係結構性的轉變，小三通在原先累積的成果上，可望發揮更多元的能量，且為兩岸人民所共享、共榮。

Kinmen is the nearest island to Xiamen in Fujian Province in Mainland China. A Minan proverb (3) frequently puts the four islands "Dongshan, Xiamen, Kinmen, Pingtan" into the same group. Since ancient times, Kinmen and Dongshan have been similar in their geography, history, and culture. Kinmen Magistrate Li pointed out that Dongshan and Kinmen have turned conspicuously (4) into a golden triangle. In the future, the two sides may utilize their respective strengths in tourism to mutually enhance the development of their own island tourism industries.
　 金門是距離大陸福建廈門市最近的一座島嶼，閩南俗諺經常將「東山、廈門、金門、平潭」四島並稱；自古以來，金門與東山不論在地緣、歷史、文風上，彼此多有相似之處。李沃士表示，東山與金門儼然成為一個金三角，未來雙方可在旅遊方面各自發揮所長，相互增進島嶼觀光發展。

In this forum, county magistrates Li, Wo-Shi (李沃士); Wang, Qian-Fa (王乾發); and Wu, Da-Jin (吳達金) exchanged gifts with each other and witnessed the signing of "the Agreement on the Three Island's Tourism Cooperation and Development" by the travel associations in Kinmen, Penghu, and Dongshan. They expect the development of the tourism industry in the three islands will be upgraded through cooperation, and along with the emergence of this "Golden Triangle", the cross-strait tourism market will be enlarged.
　 在這項論壇上，金門縣長李沃士、澎湖縣長王乾發，分別與東山縣長吳達金互換禮物，並共同為東金澎三島旅遊協會簽署「三島旅遊發展合作協議」做見證，期透過合作，共同提升三座島嶼的旅遊產業，做大、做強海峽旅遊市場，共同打造「金三角」願景。
