金門一日遊金廈旅遊重大突破

The new one-day tour to Kinmen for Non-Fujian Residents in Xiamen started on June 13th. The first of these groups to arrive in Kinmen were greeted at the port by Kinmen County Magistrate Li, Wo-Shi (李沃士). Magistrate Li was glad to see that the new policy which the county government had been fighting for was put into action (1). He said that this is a major breakthrough in Kinmen-Xiamen tourism development. Following the start-up of the one-day program, Li said that the county government will do their best to urge the opening up of 2-day tours, 3-day tours, or even self-guided tours, allowing more mainland tourists to stay overnight in Kinmen. Eventually, he hoped that these new policies will bring more development to the tourism industry for Kinmen.
暫住廈門非福建籍居民赴金門一日遊的新遊程13日啟動，金門縣長李沃士親自到碼頭迎接首發團成員。李縣長很高興努力爭取的政策終於上路了。他說，這是金廈旅遊重大突破。一日遊啟動後，後續還有二日遊、三日遊，將繼續積極爭取陸客在金門過夜，甚至是個人自由行，為金門帶來更好的觀光產業發展。

On the initiation date for the one-day tour from Xinmen to Kinmen, 21 members of the first group arrived at the Kinmen's Shui-Tou Port, from Wu-Tong Port in Xiamen. County Magistrate Li, accompanied by Deputy Magistrate Wu, You-Qin (吳友欽), County Transportation and Tourism Bureau Director-General Yang, Zhen-Wu (楊鎮浯), etc., went to the port to welcome these special guests and to express their welcome to this open-up policy.
　 金廈一日遊正式啟動當天，首發團21人從廈門五通碼頭搭船到金門水頭碼頭，縣長李沃士帶領副縣長吳友欽、縣交通旅遊局局長楊鎮浯等主管到碼頭迎賓，表達對這項開放政策的歡迎。

Magistrate Li stated that it is a major breakthrough for non-Fujian mainland residents to be allowed to obtain Exit / Entry Permits during their travel to Xiamen and to extend their tour to Kinmen. He is excited to see that the cooperation of both sides of the Strait has increased tourism. In the past, mainland tourists can only take the boat trip over the Kinmen-Xiamen sea area, but now this new policy allows them to land on Kinmen. This is truly a major breakthrough for the Kinmen tourism policy.
　 李縣長指出，大陸非福建籍居民到廈門能辦證延伸性旅遊金門，這是金廈旅遊重大突破，他非常高興看到兩岸合作把觀光大餅做大。以往陸客只能搭船遊金廈海域，遠眺金門，現在這項遊程已經可以從海上延伸登陸金門。這是金門觀光政策的重大突破。

Magistrate Li pointed out that Kinmen greeted the first group of one-day program with a warm welcome, and also invited more mainland tourists from different cities to continue visiting Kinmen. He hopes that the one-day tour can be soon followed by two-day, three-day tours, and the totally unlimited self-guided tour with the hope that these policies can help further develop Kinmen's tourism.
　 李縣長表示，金門以熱情的心來歡迎首發團的到訪，也歡迎陸續有更多中國各地的遊客到金門觀光旅遊。他期望一日遊啟動之後，後續還有二日遊、三日遊，以及完全不限制日程的自由行，這些政策能為金門帶來更好的觀光發展。

Yang, Zhen-Wu said that to ensure the quality of tourism services, the County Government has advised travel agents to insure all mainland travelers being covered with travel-related insurance and to improve their service grade. Besides, the county government also provided three different routes which include Round-island, Eastern-island, and Western-island with a short trip to Little Kinmen, so that the travel agents can draw up their own marketing strategies and work together to meet opportunities of this new policy.
　 楊鎮浯表示，為確保旅遊服務品質，縣府已輔導在地旅遊業者，要求陸客應投保旅遊相關保險，提昇服務檔次，並提供包含全島遊、東半島遊、西半島加小金門遊等三條旅遊路線，供業者包裝行銷，共同迎接這項新政策帶來的商機。
