金門迎城隍揭開序幕踩街嘉年華熱鬧登場

The 2011 Kinmen City God Carnival (1) Parade activities took place at the square in front of "Qing Dynasty's Quemoy Troops Headquarters" on the evening of April 30, announcing the beginning of City God Festival this year.
2011年金門迎城隍踩街化妝嘉年華活動，4月30日晚間在三級古蹟總兵署前熱鬧登場，也為今年迎城隍系列活動正式揭開序幕。

Jin Cheng Township Mayor, Shi, Zhao-Min (石兆 ) said that the City God Festival on April 12 of every lunar calendar year is the largest traditional festival on Kinmen island. This activity already has 331 years of history, and in order to make the occasion worthy of notice and to promote tourism in Kinmen, this year's festival planned a hundred-joint centipede (2) procession (3), totaling 168 meters in length. They hope to set the record for the longest human centipede procession in the Guinness Book of World Records, thus putting Kinmen's temple fair in the record book of ROC's centennial celebration. In order to achieve this goal, people are encouraged to register and participate.
金城鎮長石兆 表示，每年農曆四月十二日迎城隍為金門島上最大的民俗慶典，這項活動迄今已有三百三十一年的歷史，為了讓迎城隍民俗慶典更有看頭，促進金門觀光，今年迎城隍規劃百節蜈蚣座陣頭，總長度為168公尺，已向金氏世界紀錄委員會提出申請，將以「純人力最長蜈蚣座陣頭」接受認證，為建國100年的金門廟會寫紀錄，歡迎鄉親踴躍報名參與。

Activities on the 30th started out from the "Qing Dynasty's Quemoy Troops Headquarters", and included the human centipede procession, performances by Zhong Zheng Elementary Lion Dance team, etc. Puppet performances also took place at the square in front of "Qing Dynasty's Quemoy Troops Headquarters." Shi, Zhao-Min expressed that this carnival parade will continue with a second procession on the evening of May 7th. Through the City God Festival and its serial traditional folk performances, the city expects to provide some evening activities for tourists to enjoy in the city, and to experience the different customs and culture of Kinmen.
30日的活動安排踩街隊伍從總兵署出發，參與踩街的隊伍包括：人力蜈蚣座、中正國小舞獅表演等。總兵署前廣場還安排傀儡戲表演。石兆 表示，這項踩街化妝嘉年華，五月七日晚上六時三十分將繼續舉辦第二場次，期望藉由迎城隍系列的民俗表演活動，提供夜遊城區的觀光旅客一個觀看表演的去處，體驗地區的各種不同習俗和傳統文化。
