金門尚義機場升格為乙等航空站

Thanks to the expansion policy of "Mini-Three-Links", Kinmen Shang Yi Airport passenger traffic has consecutively maintained its record of 1.5 million travelers for three years, qualifying it to be upgraded to a level B airport, and taking its place as the 4th largest airport in the country. On the 2nd, Provincial Governor Xue, Cheng-Tai and County magistrate Li, Wo-Shi jointed a celebration ceremony, at which they unanimously (1) expressed their eager expectation to see the quality of the airport service continue to rise, and progress towards the goal to upgrade to level A.
拜「擴大小三通」所賜，金門尚義航空站旅客運量連續三年突破150萬人次，升格為乙等航空站，也是國內第四大機場。省政府主席薛承泰、縣長李沃士在2日舉行的慶祝儀式上，一致期盼航站繼續提升服務品質，朝升格為甲等站目標邁進。

The Kinmen Airport was established and started operations on March 1, 1994. During the past consecutive three years, the passenger traffic exceeded 1.5 million people, and broke its record last year with a total of 2,094,623 travelers, which makes it eligible (2) to be upgraded into Level B. Approved by the Executive Yuan, the upgrade announcement from level C to level B went into effect (3) on January 1 of this year.
金門航空站於民國83年3月1日開站，由於近年來連續3年旅客運量超越150萬人次，去年還創下209萬4623人次新高紀錄，達到升格標準，經行政院核定，從丙等站升格為乙等站，追溯自今年1月1日生效。

At 10 o'clock in the morning of the 2nd, the Kinmen Airport held a celebration tea party, hosted by Civil Aeronautics Administration Bureau Chief Yin Cheng-Peng. Special guests from all fields presented at the party to witness the historical moment.
　 金門航空站2日上午十時特別舉辦慶祝茶會，由交通部民用航空局局長尹承蓬主持，各界貴賓均到場祝賀，一起見證這歷史性的時刻。

Magistrate Li first expressed gratitude towards President Ma and central authorities for their attention toward Kinmen, allowing it to achieve such a change. He emphasized that air transportation has been the core of Kinmen's development, and hopes that more efforts will be made to pursue the goal of improving the visibility of landing minimum at the airport. Xue, Cheng-Tai also encouraged Kinmen Airport in its future "Fine Level B" efforts, because this airport is the gate of the country. He also thanked the central ministries for their assistance. The future provincial government will continue to act as a communication bridge, assisting every aspect of Kinmen's development.
　 李沃士首先感謝馬總統與中央部會對金門的重視，讓機場設施近二年來獲得大幅改善。他強調，空運是金門發展的核心，今年希望朝改善能見度目標繼續努力。薛承泰也勉勵金門航空站未來要朝「優良乙等航站」努力，因為機場航站是國家門面。他也感謝中央各部會的協助，未來省府還將繼續扮演溝通橋樑，協助金門各方面的發展。
